Our History and Company Anniversary
French Oil Mill Machinery Company was founded in the year 1900. That year marked the beginning of an era that became a boon for innovation. Ohio’s own William McKinley was president and that year, the first Hershey chocolate bar was introduced to the nation. The scope of American innovation in the 1900s advanced when our founder, Alfred Willard French, Sr., transitioned his knowledge from vegetable oil mill machinery to metal forming and curing. He globalized the company to export machinery to Great Britain, Germany, and Norway. Today, we celebrate Alfred French, Sr. and his innovations.
Generational Values and Achievements
The company has grown, innovated, and stayed family-owned for 121 years. Daniel P. French is the current Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. Under Daniel French’s leadership, we acquired TMP (now named TMP, A Division of French), T. H. T. Presses, Inc., and have continued to globalize. We have been recognized twice by the President of the United States with the E Award and the E Star Award for our significant contributions to the expansion of U.S. exports.
Additionally, Daniel French’s children, Peter French and Tayte French Lutz, both sit on the company Board of Directors. Tayte is the Director of Marketing and spearheads market analysis, brand management, and marketing campaigns. As French continues to expand, our family values remain consistent, making an indelible difference in our operations, company culture, and customer experience. We pride ourselves on staying humble and honoring our roots. Our values allow us to continue innovating while staying reliable and authentic to both our workforce and our customers.
