Large press features in a small package. The French L-250 Mechanical Screw Press is suitable for full press use in laboratory, pilot-scale and small-scale vegetable oil extraction applications. The press incorporates many of the design features found on French’s full-size Achiever Screw Presses. These enhanced features, not typically offered on other screw presses of this size, allow it to deliver superior hexane-free extraction results and higher-quality oil.

Advanced Design Features
- Cold Pressing and Water Cooling:
- Main Cage and Shaft: Equipped for cold pressing and water cooling to reduce operating temperatures, minimizing heat degradation of oil and press cake. Essential for producing high-quality specialty and organic seed oils.
- Steam Heating: The main cage and shaft can be steam heated before startup, enhancing processing conditions.
- Breaker Bars with Lugs:
- Enhanced Mixing: Breaker bars in the main cage feature lugs extending over the main shaft assembly collars, ensuring thorough mixing of material and preventing plugging.
- Hydraulically Operated Cone Mechanism:
- Adjustable Back Pressure: The discharge cone mechanism can be hydraulically adjusted during operation to optimize oil extraction rates by increasing or decreasing back pressure.
- Variable Frequency Drives:
- Precise Control: Variable frequency drives on the feed conveyor and press allow precise control of feed rate and material flow. Adjustments are easily made via a controller and LED display.
- Efficient Oil Collection:
- Tapered Oil Trough: Crude oil is collected in a tapered oil trough at the base of the press frame. Oil drains by gravity to a discharge port for transfer to storage vessels or downstream processing. An optional oil discharge conveyor is also available.
