Electrically Heated Platen Press

French custom designs electrically heated platen press designs that provide uniform heat distribution and temperature control. The electrically heated platen press is ideal for lamination, molding or bonding a variety of materials. Various custom and standard size platens are available to suit your exact molding requirements.

Electrically Heated Platen Press Features:
  • Standard heated platen press designs heat to an operating temperature of 550° (optional up to 1200°)
  • Our platens are thicker to diffuse heat evenly across the entire surface
  • Heated platens are insulated to maintain uniform temperature with high-strength composite and microsanded materials
  • Platens are machined from one solid piece of steel or stainless steel and precision drilled for cartridge-type heating elements
  • Heated platen presses with high-wattage heaters are available for rapid heating rates
  • Platen heaters are specially coated to improve heat transfer and ease of removal
  • Multi-zones and special heater configurations provide uniform heating over the entire platen
  • Monitored heater fault detection is available as an option
  • Each heated platen press has temperature zone control with PID control that is set and displayed on the operator panel

Oil Heated Platen Press

Our oil heated platen presses are designed and insulated to provide you with the most accurate and uniform temperature in your molding process. Oil heating is suitable for the entire range of composite and rubber molding, bonding and laminating applications. Various custom and standard size platens are available to suit your exact molding requirements.

  • Computer controls programs are designed for the most uniform and accurate temperature control
  • Controlled heating to an operating temperature of 750°F
  • Controlled accurate cooling with properly designed heating/cooling thermal fluid transfer system
  • The oil heated platens are machined from one piece solid steel with interconnecting channels, milled and welded on platen outside edges to prevent and possible blockage of transfer fluid flow
  • Multi-flow zones available for large bonding and laminating press applications
  • Oil heated platens are insulated with proper materials to maintain uniform temperature across surfaces and edges

Steam Heated Platen Press

Our steam heated platen presses provide cost-effective heating and deliver accurate temperatures across the platen when molding, pressing particle board, laminating or bonding your material. Various custom and standard size platens are available to suit your exact molding requirements.

  • Properly engineered and designed to match existing or new steam source for heating up to 400°F
  • Machined from one-piece solid steel with properly sized flow channels
  • Steam heated platen designs can be used for hot water heating and cooling applications
  • Platens are insulated with high-strength materials
  • Designed with individual steam traps for each platen or zone to provide overall heating accuracy and uniformity

Electrically heated platens for a hydraulic press

Heavy Duty Hydraulic Presses Efficiently Bond Friction Materials

TMP designed two new slab side hydraulic presses for the bonding of friction materials used in heavy construction vehicles. The low deflection press design was built in two sizes, a 1300-ton press with 56-inch square heated platens and a smaller 520-ton press with 36-inch square heated platens, both for heating up to 550°F.

Automatic Hydraulic Rubber Transfer Molding Platen Press Increases Production

All areas of the new hydraulic press are under vacuum and accurate temperature control, including the automated charging system. The heated platens are equipped with three zones of electric temperature control, while the other sections of the system employ liquid temperature control.
